The fourth annual TOSH Gran Fondo Salt Lake will be held on May 19, 2018.
The third annual TOSH Gran Fondo Salt Lake is a timed but non-competitive ride with hundreds of cyclists from Utah and the region. With fully supported aid stations, SAG vehicles and a great meal waiting for you at the finish line. With killer SWAG and gear, you’ll be part of Utah’s premier spring cycling event.
Starting and finishing at the Saltair near the shores of the Great Salt Lake, Gran Fondo Salt Lake offers courses from 35 miles to 100+ miles. Because this is Utah, after all, you can expect to ride a few hills during the event. But don’t let that scare you away – the views are amazing and the company can’t be beat.
Jerseys and additional gear can be purchased on the registration portal.
We know most of you consider this a race even if it isn’t officially a race. That’s why we’ll record start and finish times. But if you really want to throw it down to see who has the strongest legs – especially among your riding buddies – we’ll set up a Strava TT segment for the race. You’ll see it when you’re out on the course. Set your Garmin to record your time on that segment and the results will be posted along with the overall finishing times. The top three men and women on the Strava TT will receive a free 2018 Gran Fondo Salt Lake jersey.
Registration includes finisher’s medals for all participants, sweet SWAG, gender specific t-shirt, electronic timing and results, supported aid station, and post-race goodies. The first 200 to register for the 100 Mile ride at full price ($85) will receive a Gran Fondo Salt Lake jersey with their registration. After that, 100-mile registration drops to $70 but does not include a jersey.
The 2018 Gran Fondo Salt Lake begins and ends at Saltair on the shores of the Great Salt Lake. Our 100 Mile Route starts with a quick, but well protected, section of I-80 from Saltair to the Tooele exit where we begin a loop around the Oquirrh Mountains. A lane of traffic will be coned off for cyclists and police officers will be on hand to ensure our safety for the 3 miles of highway riding.
65 and 35 mile courses will begin at Saltair and travel south into the Salt Lake Valley before looping back to Saltair.
